The Bride of the Water God (Habaek) - Korean Drama Review

The Bride of the Water God (Habaek) is based on web comic. Ha Baek means literally "Water God". Ha-baek (Nam Joo-hyuk) visits earth to find power stone and can help him to claim hid throne. A psychiatrist Yoon So-ah (Shin Se-kyung) whose family is serve the water god, help Habaek to achieve the goal. So-ah also meets the wind god Bi-ryeom (Gong Myung), the water goddess Mu-ra (Krystal).

Network: tvN
Episodes: 16
Release Date: July 3 - August 22, 2017
My Rating: 7.5/10

The first 3 episodes are interesting but after that the story is nothing special. Sometimes, the story is boring. I don't feel the chemistry between Nam Joo-Hyuk and Shin Se-Kyung. In contrast, the chemistry between Gong Myung and Krystal is good. Shin Se-kyung is cute but the acting is weird. I don't believe her character as a doctor. The characters of Bi-ryeom and Mu-ra are more interesting than Habaek and So-ah. Habaek is a god but we cannot see his power in this drama, just heard the story from other people. That's why he does not look powerful. Lim Ju-Hwan (as Hoo Ye)'s acting is outstanding and great.
