The King Loves - Korean Drama Review

The King Loves or The King in Love is a historical drama, based on novel. The drama set in Goryeo Dynasty. Wang Won (Im Si-Wan) is a crown prince and his childhood friend & bodyguard named Wang Rin (Hong Jong-hyun). They meet Eun-san (Yoon-ah) who is the daughter of the richest man. They become friend. Both Wang Won and Wang Rin love Eun-san.

Network: MBC
Episodes: 40 (35 minutes each episode)
Release Date: July 17 - September 19, 2017
My Rating: 9/10

This drama has good plot. You can see beautiful friendship between friends. Won and Rin believe in each other although they speak few words but can touch the feeling and thoughts. I think this drama both Won and Rin are the male lead role (no 1st and 2nd). They love Eun-san. Love is important but the friendship is also important. The casting is awesome. I watched Si-Wan as male lead in Misaeng (Three actors from Misaeng reunited in this drama). His character is Misaeng is quite different from The King Loves but they could do them well. The character of Jong-hyun in Moon Lovers is aggressive which is also different from The King Loves. Yoon-ah can perform the bright characteristic, smart and beautiful well. She has very good chemistry with both Si-hwan and Jong-hyun. Many people including me frustrate with Eun-san when and who she will choose as lover. I heard that many points in drama are different from the novel. In the novel is clear, whom is Eun-san will choose. I will not spoil the ending but I recommend this drama.
