Oh-Sunny (Jang Na-Ra) is a musical actress. She admires and loves Lee Hyuk (Shin Sung-Rok) who is an emperor. Lee Hyuk pretends to be her fanclub and propose marriage to Sunny for some purpose but she does not know the truth. She says yes and enters to the palace.
Na Wang-Sik (Choi Jin-Hyuk) lives with his mother, Dong-Sik and Min Yoo-Ra (Lee Elijah). Min Yoo-Ra works as imperial head secretary. Later, Wang-Sik's mother is murdered. Wang-Sik believes that Lee Hyuk is murderer. He changes his identity to Chun Woo-Bin and becomes emperor's bodyguard and takes revenge.
After Sunny gets marriage to Lee-Hyuk, she is sad and surprise with the truth behind the marriage. Moreover, Lee Hyuk’s grandmother passed away. Sunny helps Woo-Bin takes revenge and for herself as well.

My rating: 9/10
I almost give rating 10/10 but minus 1 because of the last 4 episodes. The Last Empress is original 48 episodes but extends to 52 episodes. Choi Jin-Hyuk has a fan meeting in Taiwan so he did not appear in the last 4 episodes.
Overall, I love this drama. I enjoy watching every episodes although has 4 episodes extensions. The casting is awesome both the lead and supporting roles. The story is unpredictable, exciting, sad, stress and comedy so many feelings in this drama. That's wonderful. Sometimes enemy can be friend or must help enemy.
The most cruel people in this drama is Lee Hyuk's mother. She is selfish and can do anything even hurt his son. Lee Hyuk is also cruel but in the first half. After he falls in love with Sunny, he becomes better man and has sense of humour.
Lee Elijah is talent and beautiful actress. She plays an important role in this drama. The characteristic of Min Yoo-Ra in the first and the second half has some conflicts in herself. In the 2nd half, she shows her weakness. I think it's an additional scenes.
I still recommend this drama although many people disappoint the ending. If Jin-Hyuk can join the last 4 episodes, the entire drama would be perfect. Anyway, I am happy with the ending.
Actually, there is special epilogue. This seems to be a really happy ending.
